How much does tree removal cost?
While exact costs depend on factors like tree size, species, location, and access, their quoting process is as follows: estimates are free, and once provided, are valid for one year (unless otherwise stated in writing). For stump grinding (often part of removal), we note a typical cost of around $5 per inch of diameter, though terrain, root structure, and access can affect pricing.
Do you offer emergency tree services?
Yes. Bart’s offers 24/7 emergency tree services for urgent situations such as storm damage, hazardous hanging limbs, or fallen trees.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
Whether or not you need a permit depends on where you live. The good news is – we deal with this all the time. When we come out for your estimate, we’ll let you know if a permit is needed and walk you through the process. You won’t be left figuring it out on your own.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — we are fully insured, and employ a Connecticut‑licensed arborist (HIC #0625619) as well as an ISA Certified Arborist (Matt Bartelme, NE‑6959A).
When is the best time to prune or trim trees?
Pruning timing depends on tree species and flowering patterns. For example, most flowering trees should be pruned after they bloom, while maples can often be pruned at various times of the year. Because each tree and site is unique, we recommend discussing pruning timing with the estimator to tailor the timing for the tree’s health and condition.
